Introductory Christianity

Here are the summaries of our ongoing bible study exploration of an introduction to Christianity.

John 1:1–18

  • Main Point: God personally revealed Himself to us through His Word, full of life-giving grace and truth.
  • Purpose: Know God and believe in Him through His life-giving Word—Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:9–26

  • Main Point: All humanity is equally sinful before God and can be saved only by faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection.
  • Purpose: Humble ourselves before God and others, and humbly accept God’s gift to believe in (and only in) Jesus to save us from our sin.
  • Situation: Jewish Christians are tempted to feel superior to non-Jewish Christians due to their religious upbringing.

Acts 2:14–41

  • Main Point: The chosen Promised Savior King that has been anointed by the LORD is the crucified and resurrected Jesus of Nazareth.
  • Purpose: Recognise Jesus of Nazareth as the Promised Savior King and therefore repent inwardly and outwardly in Christ for the forgiveness of sins.
