Here are the summaries of our 5-part bible study exploration of Paul’s first epistle to the Thessalonians.
1 Thessalonians 1:1–10
- Main Point: Godly living, characterised by faith, love, and hope, models Christ to the rest of the Christians in the region.
- Purpose: Persevere in the faith as they eagerly hope for Christ’s return.
1 Thessalonians 2:1–16
- Main Point: Paul’s leadership and guidance is trustworthy in lovingly and faithfully delivering the Word of God as it is, even through persecution.
- Purpose: Continue walking in a manner worthy of God by believing the gospel of God.
1 Thessalonians 2:17–3:13
- Main Point: Continued faith and love establish Christians’ hearts blameless in holiness before God the Father while awaiting Christ’s return.
- Purpose: Remain steadfast in the Lord by increasing and abounding in love in spite of present affliction.
1 Thessalonians 4:1–12
- Main Point: God has called us to holiness, not impurity.
- Purpose: Pursue holiness and flee impurity.
1 Thessalonians 4:13–5:28
- Main Point: God has destined us for physical and spiritual salvation in light of King Jesus’ promised imminent return.
- Purpose: Encourage one another by the power of the Spirit and build one another up in faith, hope, and love, for the prepared hope of Jesus’ return.
